	In February of 2000, Anthony was diagnosed with acute liver failure and was in desperate need of a new liver. He was given 24-48 hours to live and with God on his side he received a liver within 24 hours. With his new liver and life, Anthony’s family started the Anthony Picarello Foundation, a non-profit foundation which raises money for organ awareness and assists families with charitable gifts who are going through a transplant. In 2003, their foundation helped 7 families in need of financial assistance. “My priorities have changed and I try to help where I can and enjoy life to the fullest”.
In his spare time Anthony is involved in promoting the importance of organ transplantation.  He volunteers as an Executive Board member on the Anthony Picarello Foundation whose mission is to raising awareness of organ and tissue donations and organ transplants and to providing financial assistance and support to individuals or their families facing a life saving transplant.
